Tanya sat in front of the black television screen, which served as a fine mirror, running a brush idly through her hair. Carmen and Eleazar were lounging on the couch behind her. The image of them reflected in the screen made her slightly ill but she brushed it off none the less. She set the brush down and stared herself in the eye critically. Carmen and Eleazar winced as soon as she drew air to speak.
“Maybe if I cut it,” She suggested tiredly, her pale hand smoothing her hair out. Eleazar just shook his head but Carmen spoke in reply, her tone ultimately bored and slightly annoyed. Tanya hadn't realized how fed up everyone was with her. Pouting, she listened as her friend spoke.
“Don't cut it, Tanya, it'll never grow back,” She drawled, burying her face in Eleazar's chest. Married people could be so annoying sometimes. Tanya craned her neck to look at them for a second and then returned to her reflection.
“Well, maybe if I-” She continued, but was quickly cut off (this time by Eleazar).
“Give it up, Tans.” He said, slinging and arm over his eyes. She huffed a little. Really, they were being immature. It wasn't like she was auditing them or something boring like. Asking them to rearrange the family books according to the Dewey decimal system. Tanya smiled at her own thoughts, earning a look of doubt from Eleazar and a raised eyebrow from Carmen. She shook her head, running the brush through her hair again.
“I mean, I just don't get it.” She complained, and both of her companions sighed and reoriented themselves on the couch. They probably wanted her to leave. That was what they were trying to accomplish with their fidgety-ness. Well, she wasn't going to be bullied around by a pair of immature married people. "I'm attractive, right?"
"Yes," Carmen and Eleazar chorused from the sofa, both with closed eyes and displeased expressions.
"And I'm a decent person to be around. Witty, and the like," Tanya continued, now standing in front of the television and pacing back and forth. She tapped her hairbrush against her thigh impatiently.
"Sure," They mumbled, sounding more irritable with every passing second.
"So then why won't he just..." She grunted in exasperation, sitting down again and clutching at her hair with both hands. It made absolutely no sense to her. In her years and years of experience with men, none had been so aggravating as Edward Cullen.
"Maybe because you just won't give up and leave him alone?" Carmen suggested in a less than kind way. Tanya's shocked expression quickly turned to one of melodramatic sorrow.
"I can take a hint," She muttered, standing up and shooting them one last pout before flouncing out of the room and finally leaving them in peace.
