It has been seventy years since the meeting between the Volturri and the Cullen’s and the vampire world has been rather peaceful, or at least, as much as it can be. During this time the Cullen’s left Forks Washington in order to start their new lives. In this time, Isabella fulfilled her wish to graduate from Dartmouth and the love between her and Edward has only grown over the years. Their daughter Renesmee has also grown, reaching full maturity after seven years of her birth.
After traveling back and fourth across the country, the Cullen family feels the strong desire to return to the town where it had all started and after packing up, they do just that.
Having moved back to Forks, they once again begin the lives they have grown so used to living, enrolling in the local high school being one of them. Everything seems to be going perfectly. Jacob for one is ecstatic about the move, since it means that he no longer has to travel to see his friends or Renesmee, who he sees as his “soul-mate”. Sadly, as many know, things that are going perfect hardly stay that way for long. A new danger has come to the small town of Washington, one that not only puts the Cullen’s at risk but the humans as well.
To the humans, the Hartwell family appears to be perfectly normal. The mother and father have good paying jobs and are very into helping out the small community when ever they can. The three teenagers of the family, who all attend Forks High, are at the top of their classes and manage to give part of their time to sports as well as other after school activities. All in all, it seems as if this family is the prime example of how the average American family should be. There is just one little problem that interferes with this, and that is that the Hartwell family is anything but average.
You see, for three days out of the month, the Hartwell family go on vacation. While this seems like a nice family outing, the truth behind it isn’t so wonderful. Upon meeting this new family, the Cullen’s see them for what they truly are. They are the children of the moon or better known as werewolves.
Unlike the past hate between the Quileute pack and the Cullen’s, the Hartwell’s are real werewolves, making their dislike of the immortal family even stronger. The same goes vice versa for the Cullen’s, who find them selves feeling uneasy about the situation.
To make matters worse, the Volturri have recovered from the events seventy years ago and have come to the conclusion that instead of ending the Cullen’s lives, they want them on their side. The Volturri know that with the gifts that run in the other vampire family, they would never have to fear being disobeyed again. This thought makes the Volturri even more desperate, coming up with a join or fight threat for the Cullen’s.
It seems as if the small town of Forks is once again about to be the home of yet another battle between the creatures they know to be legends only this time, there is a chance that not everyone will make it out alive.
