- - - I DARE SAY THAT I'VE HEARD OF YOU BEFORE. REMIND ME AGAIN, WHAT'S THE NAME YOUR PARENTS GAVE YOU, ANY SIGNIFICANCE ?

“My name is Wendla Isolde Everard. Yeah, yeah I know, but I didn’t exactly get to chose it. -laughs- My mother was a little bit obsessed with old literature so when she ended up with a German last name she went crazy with happiness as it meant she had an excuse to name me after a character from Spring Awakening, I say this as an explanation of my first name. This was ok until that musical came out, no one knew the reference until then. But hey they say names are destiny right? Maybe I was cursed from birth. No, no not cursed. Blessed. Fated. As for Isolde, the second in the list, that was a case of opera love. German again. Really Mum was so thrilled with the name Everard, it let her do just about anything she wanted with my name. Most people call me Wendy when push comes to shove, simply because I really do not like Wendla. It just annoys me as everyone raises an eyebrow. So yeah it‘s Wendy. To everyone. I introduce myself to people as that, I can put up with the Peter Pan jokes, much better than them bursting into song on me.”

“A crack team of experts managed to make Mum carry me almost to term, well I say almost. I lasted six months. So I was three months premature. Once I came out they were even more worried, as I truly was tiny for a child, but money talks and they managed to keep me alive long enough for my body to realise this was it and it had to start working. It was three months before my parents got to name me, christen me or take me home. All these things in order. They christened me live on air. Oh god how tacky now I think back over it. This all happened on the 31st of October nineteen long years ago.”

- - - CHRIST YOU DON'T LOOK FAMILIAR, DO YOU LIVE IN THESE PARTS?

“Well I am originally from La Push, my family settled there years before I was born. I grew up there for sixteen years, before I ran away that is. Well not run away, took a sabbatical is how I like to phrase it.”

- - - SO WE KNOW THIS IS GONNA SOUND STRANGE, BUT WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU?

”Human. Duh?”

“I‘m sort of into both. Try-sexual. I‘ll try anything.”

- - - TELL ME: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD ? THINGS THAT JUST MAKE YOU WANT TO SMILE

“Oh god there are so many things that I like. I am not sure what you want me to tell you about. I guess I’ll just pick the major ones. So first there is music. I have a completely unquenchable love of music. I never go anywhere without my I-pod, I even have one for Lilah. She seems calmed by having earphones in her ears, I have no idea why but hey maybe it was because she got so used to hearing it that way in the womb. Second is all those old combat sports, such as fencing or archery. Yes yes I know this is a very strange hobby to have, but the minute I picked up a bow and arrow I knew I had found my sport. Everyone always despairs of it actually, they think I am going to get myself killed doing it one day, just encase it were to spring back and get me. But it won’t, I’m more likely to kill someone else than myself. Thirdly is cookery. I love to cook, always have done, and I must say I am very good at it, which is why I work as a waitress, to be around food and cooks, I wanted to see how they do everything and it had been the perfect opportunity, one of these days I want to start working in there myself, but I am determined to work my way up, I don’t want to just be handed something on a plate. Fourthly and much easier to explain is the fact I love to swim, and to dive. So yeah La Push is great for that. Fifthly, I love to run, simple as that. Running is my de-stresser.”

“This is going to be much quicker, as even talking about these things make me cringe. The dark, thunderstorms, Lilah’s father, small spaces and arrogance in guys.”

- - - ANY SHORT OR LONG TERM GOALS ? WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS ? IN TEN ? HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET THERE

“I don’t really have all that many ambitions, I sort of have everything that I want. I just want to watch Lilah grow up and make enough money on my own two feet to make sure she has the best life; despite not having a Dad around. Other than that there’s just the little things like remembering to pick up my dry cleaning or making sure Lilah gets out of bed in time to get to school on time. The little things that just keep the world going around right? I don’t think people should have ambitions, they should just be happy with their lot in life.”

- - - WHAT MAKES YOU QUAKE IN YOUR BOOTS ? IF YOU HAD TO PICK ONE THING THAT HAS SCARED YOU THE MOST, WHAT WOULD IT BE

“I don’t fear much, but there are a few things that can cripple me. The first is fear over Delilah. Every time I let her out of my sight I feel like I want to snatch her back and bring her back into my body, where I know I can keep her safe from everything. Every time she so much as slips over, or trips whilst out in the backyard, I want to rush her to the doctor or the hospital just encase she needs medical treatment. If she gets a cut I disinfect it before she’s even spilt three drops of blood. Some might call me a worry wart, but she’s my daughter! I have to look out for her. Other than fear over Lilah there is the usual things, spiders, thunderstorms and more bizarre than anything I have a fear of being assaulted by someone while out. I know a lot of people are scared of the idea, but I actually actively fear it, rather than having it just at the back of my mind.”

- - - IS THERE A SIGNIFICANT OTHER IN YOUR LIFE ? HOW DO YOU DO WITH RELATIONSHIPS

“None, I‘m too busy with Lilah.”

- - - NOW, YOU KNOW THAT I ADORE YOU, BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT SOME OTHER PEOPLE FOR A BIT. A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME THAT YOU HAVE SOME PRETTY INTERESTING PARENTS, WHO ARE THEY AND WHAT ARE THEY LIKE

“My father is a man called Frank Everard. Yes I am not kidding, that Frank Everard. The bloke you are always seeing speaking on the TV about this or that to do with God. He’s the TV evangelist that I swear has just been in his job for as long as I can remember. He used to tell me that the reason he stayed in power with his flock was because he had the perfect family, god it’s a good thing I left when Lilah came on the scene. As for my mother, well she’s Judge Judith Capulet-Everard. And I say Judge because she works in the supreme court, not as one of the big ones, but she’s pretty high up in there. She could have been really high up if she’d bothered to try, but she put me and my sister first and her career second.”

- - - ANY OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN YOUR FAMILY ? DID YOUR PARENTS HAVE ANY OTHER CHILDREN

“I have one sister, Ilse Everard, whom I sure thinks I am dead by now as I think that is what my parents put about after a year had passed and they hadn’t heard a word from me. They knew there was still money coming out of my account, but whenever they sent someone to find me I was always gone long before, and because of this they just sort thought that if I was still alive I didn’t want to be found and so was dead to them. So yeah lovely. Me and my sister were really close. I mean we were each other’s best friends. Really and truly. I haven’t seen her for three years though. Three very long years.”

- - - HOW ABOUT PETS, HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE

“I have a dog called Millie, well me and Lilah have a dog technically. She’s a German Shepherd we picked up at a dog shelter when we were in Paris. She was just sitting there with her big dark eyes and her floppy ears. We couldn’t leave her there so we took her home with us.”
