well the actual name carlisle is derived from a surename, which meant "city belonging to Lugovalos" in welsh. now i'm not welsh myself, but "lucgovalos" means strong as lugus. not really sure myself quite what that means, but i like my name; it's unique and certainly not common, although i do believe there is a place... or maybe a couple, that have my name. i haven't changed or altered my name at all in my over three hundred years of living.

i don't remember my exact date of birth. it was in the 1640s, somewhere about 1645... it was a long time ago, and human memories do fade, so i can't really rememember much about those times. dates weren't well coordinated back then. i was born to an angelican pastor; my father was part of a group of pastors who hunted down witches and the like. quite ironic.

as a matter of fact, i live just on the outskirts of forks, washington, and i have been here for a few years now. obviously my family and i move around quite a lot, never staying in one place for any long amounts of time. when we do move it takes a while for things to get adjusted, but once we are, everything is just a matter of making sure that nobody discovers what we are.

i'm a vampire... but my family and i are differet from other vampires. we call ourselves vegetarians, as we only feed on the blood of animals to stay alive.

i enjoy baseball; what vampire, in their hearts, doesn't? it's rare that you ever get to play, unless you fly to some deserted wasteland, but when there's a thunderstorm my family and i can play without having to worry so much about the sound of the ball hitting the bat. that alone is just like a crack of thunder. esme, of course; she's my beautiful loving wife and i'd be lost without her. i love my job, and the reward of getting to save the lives of those who may have died. even though i may not do so often, i love driving fast cars. all vampires do, i believe. oh, and my family - how could i have forgotten them? i love them all to pieces and i love being in their company.

i'm not a hater of many things, and i certainly wouldn't wish anyone dead. i dislike the prospect of death, although i believe that there is some sort of afterlife for us if we are killed - vampires, i mean. an afterlife for humans, too, yet i'm not sure if it would be the same one. no one knows, do they? i don't condone to the killing of innocents, and i heavily distaste killers. there's nothing to gain from killing anyone, and athough i cannot stop it from happening, being a doctor gives me the oppertunity to save lives, if they can be saved, that have been cruely ripped apart.

- - - ANY SHORT OR LONG TERM GOALS ? WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS ? IN TEN ? HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET THERE

i don't really have any goals. obviously we have bella in the family now, and i'm hoping that in ten years time things will have smoothed out. we wont be in forks in five years time, most likely, but we'll be somewhere with as little sun as possible. in ninety odd years or so, perhaps we shall move back here, as it is one of our most prefered places to maintain residence.

i can't really remember anything that's scared me more than anything else. i suppose when jasper had attacked bella, i was frightened, not only of what had happened, but the events that could unfold in the future.

esme is my soulmate. i'd never, ever betray that. i love her with all my existance, and i never want to be parted from her.

i can't remember my parents too well. my relationship with my mother wasn't strong, but it wasn't combined with hate, either. from what i can remember, we got along but it was my father's footsteps i followed in. when he had become too ill to continue what he was doing, i took up his post in the group of pastors. i was clever and inteligent enough to find a real live coven of vampires banded together in the sewers; that was how i became what i am.

i was an only child.
