rp sample ••Emmett raced to the car as fast as his tree trunk legs could carry him. He really wanted the shotgun seat. After all, he was always so uncomfortable in the back. He shook his head as the tiny figure of Alice raced past him. No fair! She was lighter on her feet than him; of course she was going to win! He shook his head as they reached the car and slammed his foot on the ground like a child who had not got their own way. He stuck his tongue out at Alice. Just as Rosalie and Jasper approached. He smiled at the blonde he had come to know as his angel and pulled her towards him wrapping an arm around her waist as she leant in to kiss him on the chin. Then guided her, even though she didn’t need it, into the middle seat, before swinging himself behind the driver’s seat. This was ok anyway. He figured. At least here he could torture his brother while he drove. Something he was sure Edward appreciated.
Watching, and waiting for Edward, Emmett let out a bored sigh. He looked out the window and drummed his fingers against the windowpane. Finally he noticed the lanky form of his brother approaching and grinned. He started to wave manically, but then Edward got close enough to see his expression. This was not good. Emmett’s own brow formed into a frown as he watched his brother approach. Nothing good came from looks like that.
He lent in towards the seat and tried to make sense of what his sister was working out for herself, but he got nothing. He slammed his head back against the headrest with a thump, forgetting his own strength for a second. Edward was leaving? This wasn’t good. Who the hell would he beat during baseball now? Emmett tried for a second to imagine the Cullen House without Edward and all he got was quiet. It was going to be quiet without his music, or his squabbles with Alice about anything and everything. He shook his head. This was not good.
He watched as his sister had her premonition. You always knew when Alice was having a premonition cause her face went all screwed and she looked like she was taking a dookie, I mean, she looked like she was concentrating really hard. As she came out of it, Emmett registered the frown and worried looks causing one of his own to appear on his face. Emmett wasn’t usually one for worried lines. He thought them pointless and whenever Rose got one of her famous ones he would try to make them disappear, either by making her laugh or gently rubbing them away. It was not healthy, to be worried all the time, but it seemed in certain situations, even the bear himself wasn’t immune from worry. He was not sure what it was. Maybe it was because this sort of thing couldn’t be fixed with a fight. Something Emmett had absolute confidence in. This was going to talk all that lovey-dovey stuff of talking, which Emmett was not so keen on. The frowns in his brow grew deeper as he wondered what was going to be said.
Missing his brother, was something, it seemed Emmett was going to have to deal with. He wasn’t sure why, or should I say who was taking his brother away from him. All he got from the conversation was it was something to do with that new kid. She hadn’t seemed all that special. Smelt really nice though, but not nice enough to make Emmett stray. No he had only done that accidentally twice, and both times the call of their blood was so strong he would defy anyone not to give in. His family, thankfully, had understood, and now it was time to offer the same to Edward. Whatever was running through his mind was something Emmett was going to have to accept and understand. No matter how hard that was.
As the car pulled into the driveway, Emmett jumped out the car before it had even come to a proper stop. He turned to his little sister and raised an eyebrow, questioning, as Edward drove off into the distance. His frown deepened, and just as he was about to ask the question on everyone’s lips, Alice spoke. He would find out inside. Now Emmett was not a patient sort of fella, so when Alice said he would have to wait. He started to fidget with his hands, then he raced to the house and called out Esme’s name in a tone, which to them would be considered shouting, but to a human barely audible. He turned around and faced the door, jumping slightly on the spot in impatience, waiting for his siblings to arrive. Once he heard Jasper’s words. He nodded furiously “Yeah, Alice what the hell?” So much for tact and eloquence, though no one could ever accuse Emmett of having any of that.
